Chapter Five Thousand and Seven: The Advantage of Divine Weapon
"Boom!"
The Dragon Blood Cross Slash erupted, accurately hitting Fan Tiande. However, before Guo Ran could express his joy,
Countless divine lights scattered, revealing Fan Tiande's figure. When Guo Ran and the others saw Fan Tiande's appearance, their jaws dropped in astonishment.
Fan Tiande had suffered no damage. His original clothes had exploded, revealing the tight-fitting scale armor underneath.
The scale armor was composed of thumb-sized scales, and as Guo Ran saw each scale, his eyes shrunk to the size of a needle's point.
"Sinful Runes."
Those scales were inlaid with blood-red runes, which Guo Ran recognized at a glance. They were the life-bound runes of a God Emperor realm expert.
In other words, each scale represented the life of a God Emperor realm expert. With hundreds of scales in this armor, it symbolized the lives of hundreds of God Emperor experts.
This scale armor was an evil artifact, designed to maximize its power by directly refining God Emperor experts, forming a living sacrifice through extremely cruel methods.
However, this process could preserve the expert's strongest power from their lifetime. Eventually, using the power of divinity, it would refine the grudges without damaging its original source power, a process that often took tens of thousands of years.
And this scale armor was a treasure passed down from the Chaos Era, finally ending up in the hands of Fan Tiande.
However, activating this armor was by no means an easy task. If he hadn't condensed thirteen dragon veins and reached an unprecedented level of divine power, he wouldn't have been qualified to wear it at all. Fortunately, Fan Tiande was able to don this scale armor. Otherwise, under Guo Ran's almost sneak attack-like strike, caught off guard, he would have been heavily injured, if not killed.
"Thank goodness I listened to the leader and didn't exert my full power. Otherwise, even if I drained the entire strength of the Dragon Blood Legion, it might not have been enough to break through its defense," Guo Ran broke into a cold sweat in that moment.
Long Chen had previously advised him not to rely too heavily on the Dragon Blood Cross Slash and not to place all his bets on it. In reality, Guo Ran had always believed that with the astonishing strength of the group, the combined attack of so many soldiers from the Dragon Blood Legion would be unstoppable within the same level of opponents.
However, he had been obedient and only used one-tenth of the power of the Dragon Blood warriors. He had been waiting for an opportunity to see if he could catch a Thirteen Veins expert off guard and possibly alleviate some of the pressure on the others.
But the result of this unexpected attack was facing a despair-inducing evil artifact. To break through Fan Tiande's defense, they would have to completely deplete the energy contained within this armor, which held the power of hundreds of God Emperor experts.
Setting aside Fan Tiande's actual strength, just this armor alone was dauntingly powerful, chilling Guo Ran's heart in that instant.
Fan Tiande also felt a surge of fear. He roared, his figure blurred, and his long sword tore through the air, slashing down towards Guo Ran.
"Boom!"
An explosion rang out as Guo Ran spewed a mouthful of blood. The sword in his hand was unexpectedly cleaved into two by Fan Tiande's strike.
"What?"
As everyone in the Dragon Blood Legion witnessed this scene, they were all shocked. That war blade was Guo Ran's recently crafted masterpiece, yet it was cleaved in two by a single strike?
Seeing Guo Ran in danger, Gu Yang was the first to rush over. His spear pierced through the air, aimed to intercept Fan Tiande's imminent attack.
"Boom!"
But there was an explosion, and Gu Yang's long spear was also severed by Fan Tiande's sword.
"To die by the blade of the Venerate Fan Tiande, blessed by the Divine Fan Tiande, is your honor," Fan Tiande declared.
Fan Tiande consecutively severed the weapons of both Guo Ran and Gu Yang with two swift strikes. He followed up with another strike aimed at Gu Yang, who was now defenseless with bare hands.
"Clang!"
A golden giant sword appeared in front of Gu Yang. It was Bai Shishi summoning the Golden Goddess to aid in the rescue. However, even the colossal golden figure was shattered by a single strike.
"His sword is infused with divine power. Only divine weapons can withstand it," Xia Chen shouted anxiously, having discerned the situation.
"Die!"
Fan Tiande struck again, targeting Gu Yang.
"Clang!"
However, at that moment, his attack was intercepted by a sword. This time, the sword did not shatter.
When people saw the owner of the sword, they were surprised to find that it was Tang Wan'er who had intervened.
Turning their attention to the plump woman, they noticed that the original battlefield was now filled with endless chains, tightly binding the plump woman who had transformed into dozens of figures.
It turned out that the plump woman didn't want to kill Tang Wan'er so quickly. She was jealous of all beautiful women and took pleasure in tormenting them. Every time Tang Wan'er struck her with a sword, she split into two, and the more she struck, the more duplicates appeared.
She enjoyed using this method to plunge her enemies into despair. However, Tang Wan'er was no longer the same as before. By the time she struck the third blow, she realized that this plump woman was not a physical being but a spiritual body composed of water essence. Ordinary attacks were futile against her.
As Tang Wan'er was devising a plan to strike a heavy blow when the plump woman least expected it, Fan Tiande made a move against the group.
Tang Wan'er had to use the Wind God Chains to temporarily restrain her. The Wind God Chains were condensed from the belief power of the Wind God lineage. Because the plump woman had too many duplicates, her power was dispersed, allowing the chains to trap her temporarily.
Seizing the opportunity, Tang Wan'er managed to approach Fan Tiande closely and block his attack with her sword.
Fan Tiande's power was that of a divine being, and Tang Wan'er's Wind God power was also a divine power. This sword was a gift from Feng Xinyue to Tang Wan'er before she entered the Transcendent Mortal Realm. Tang Wan'er had been using it before, but she hadn't felt anything special about it. However, after she condensed thirteen dragon veins, a true resonance occurred between her and the sword. She also finally understood how to wield the power of the Wind God.
However, Tang Wan'er's mastery was still a very basic and simplistic usage of the power. Even so, the terrifying destructive force it unleashed was still awe-inspiring.
"Boom!"
Two swords collided with a resounding explosion as divine power clashed. Fan Tiande and Tang Wan'er both staggered back.
"You two rats, get the hell away from me!"
Suddenly, a distant explosion echoed, and the lone fighter against two, Yue Changfeng, let out a furious roar. Finally losing his patience, he disengaged from the battle and charged towards the Dragon Blood Legion.
Yue Changfeng believed that if he were in a one-on-one battle, no one could withstand his attacks for more than three moves. However, when facing these two opponents who coordinated seamlessly, attacking and defending flawlessly, he found himself unable to unleash his full strength despite having plenty of it.
After prolonged attempts without making progress, Yue Changfeng suddenly abandoned the duo he had been fighting and headed straight for the Dragon Blood Legion. His anger had reached its boiling point, and he felt the need to kill some people, to cleanse his shame with blood, or he felt he would go mad.
However, what surprised everyone was that he targeted the North-South Alliance. Initially, Guo Ran had advised them to withdraw and find a safe place to stay, but surrounded by enemies, they couldn't retreat. Later, Xia Chen instructed them to stay put, as their actions had offended everyone, and leaving might lead to their annihilation. Staying put would at least keep them safer.
Yet, Yue Changfeng had fixated on them. No one had anticipated that Yue Changfeng would stoop so low.
But just as Yue Changfeng was closing in, a sturdy figure materialized out of nowhere, a bone staff whistling through the air.
"Boom!"
The bone staff struck Yue Changfeng, causing the earth to rupture and the entire world to tilt for a moment. Amid the chaos, the imposing figure of A Man appeared, silently and suddenly entering everyone's field of vision.
